Job Summary:
Attorney will work as part of a team which includes other lawyers and legal assistants to collect unpaid municipal obligations.  Attorney will review and sign pleadings and handle written and phone communications to clients, counsel and property owners. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review files to ensure that statutory service of all documents and pleadings has been met.
  • Review and sign pleadings. Resolve any issues where pleadings are not ready to be filed.
  • Communicate with clients, counsel and property owners by phone and/or email as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Know and apply the relevant federal and state laws, including but not limited to the Municipal Claims and Tax Liens Act, 53 P.S. §7101, et seq., the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and the FCEUA.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Dependable, with strong work ethic and personal integrity.
  • Excellent computer skills and willingness to learn cutting edge technology.   
Education and/or Experience
  • JD with Pennsylvania License.
  • Litigation or collection experience preferred
